Feel-good movement: who it’s for and what it means
Plus, why you should join the Feel-good community
You want to get fitter, move more, move differently.
Whether that’s taking up a new hobby, tackling new distances or scaling new heights; you want to have the physical power and energy to go further than you have before. And you want that to feel good. So that when it comes to weeding, walking the dog or doing the cleaning, you’re not yelping in pain or startling yourself with weird creaks and groans. And that’s exactly why you’ll love Feel-good Movement, which is what this blog is all about. Ready for some feel-good in your life? Read on.
Feel-good Movement brings together all the best aspects of Pilates, Movement to Music, Stretch, strength and flexibility training and Trigger Point Pilates for a totally new, feel-good approach to movement. One that brings joy to you and makes you part of a like minded community. Because when you move together - and get to enjoy a cuppa together afterwards - movement becomes more fun and something you actually look forward to. Imagine, rather than a gym membership sitting unused and you feeling a bit baffled about what to do with yourself now you’ve reached mid-life, actually you could be making a whole social event out of heading to a pilates, stretch or strength class.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? I know that, like me, you simply want to experience joy. You dream of living life in technicolour, where you get to squeeze every last drop of pleasure out of each day. You long for a community that feels like you do - for belly-aching laughter, fun chats and new experiences.
Why Feel-good movement is needed
As women our lives get full, and busy, we have other distractions and responsibilities and we end up at the bottom of an every growing list. You’ve spent so much time looking after others - children, parents, pets - and now you’re realising that you need a bit of TLC. Maybe it’s the menopause, or maybe the kids are flying the nest and you’re realising the importance of YOU. That’s why Feel-good Movement is needed. I discovered my own movement practice became so important for my own wellbeing - I realised that when I don’t move, I feel sluggish, grumpy and not as a positive about the day ahead - I saw that when women are able to put themselves first, prioritise movement and make it fun, it can be life changing.
What one of my Feel-good movers says about the community:
”Firstly I like the idea of [being] fit, to be able to move and keep mobile and for general health. All my adult life I have always tried to join in with... classes, I don’t enjoy gyms. I enjoy classes with like minded people. The people and the tutor especially you, help to keep you motivated to come every week. Through verbal encouragement and just general chat of “see you next week”. Mixing up the classes keeps it fresh and fun and stops you from getting bored from doing the same things which you would do in a gym or class.”
And another member of the community says:
“I look forward to class for doing something for me, sometimes I feel energised before I come, sometimes I need to feel more energised. Although I am retired I am always busy always doing something gardening, walking the dog, looking after my granddaughter, painting, decorating and sewing. I am not one for sitting around doing nothing. After class I feel good I am always pleased with myself for coming to class and making the effort. I often feel a glow/relaxed. I often feel motivated to do more after class, go home and get on with physical jobs or go out with the dog. Very rarely do I go home and do nothing. Since coming to class I know my body shape has changed for the better, it feels more toned too. I feel much better able to climb all over the boat. Pulling in sails on my holiday in Greece. Letting out the anchor, jumping off to tie ropes to the moorings. Far more than before I started coming to class.”
