When you have signs of stiffness; certain movements or positions feel so much harder than they used to - for whatever reason - and you’re keen to try Pilates but you’ve never experienced it before, it can feel daunting to come to a group class, and you won’t get the most from it. 

That’s why 1-2-1 VIP sessions are perfect for you; you’ll get hands on, focused time with your own personal coach (that’s me, Alison Marcuse-Harris, The Feel Good Movement Coach) to unravel those issues and get you ready to join group classes.

Through a blend of Pilates, Movement to Music, Pure Stretch, strength and flexibility training and Trigger Point Pilates, Deep Stretch, strength and flexibility training - including the use of Trigger Point Pilates -  you’ll experience a totally new, feel-good approach to moving your body.

How it works

These 1-2-1 sessions are perfect for you if you’re returning to or starting a new Feel-good Movement practice and need a bit of additional TLC to get you ready to join group classes. You will have a simple posture check, learn the breathing patterns we use in our pilates practice get a hands-on look at 6 basic pilates exercises, plus stretches for you to feel confident when joining group classes.

This is for you if...

You’re ready to fall back in love with movement.

You’re not quite ready for group classes as you’ve got something to unravel in your body first or you’re new to Pilates.

You’re excited and motivated to work on your own body image and start to notice the benefits of movement and strength.

This is not for you if...

You’re not prepared for some homework - you’ll have to keep up the exercises I set you in between sessions if you want to see results.

You’re looking for a silver bullet - years of sitting hunched over a desk or not showing your body some love can take time to undo. 

You have recently had surgery or are recovering from an injury.

Reclaim your sense of self through tapping into your inner strength, trying something new and glowing from the inside out. These sessions are perfect at preparing you for Pilates and Stretch group classes or if you simply need a refresher after returning to Feel-good Movement. 1-2-1 VIP sessions give you your own personal cheerleader.

  • These sessions are for you if you’re new to Pilates/Deep Stretching and would like to join group classes in the future.

    I do require all newbies to undertake at least one private lesson before joining a group class to make sure you’ve got the fundamentals down.

    They’re also for you if you need an extra helping hand to fine-tune certain exercises and ensure you are doing them correctly. We’ll work through how to improve your posture, movement patterns and alignment, and prepare you for joining group classes. 

    These 75 minute long sessions focus on your current health situation, posture, breathing and the principles of Pilates in the comfort of your own home - or in the Oxhill Manor Barn.

  • No, I’m afraid if you are a complete beginner you will need to book a 1-2-1. This is essential to keeping you safe and happy in classes. I’ll have dedicated time to show you the basic moves and correct your posture/form and you’ll be able to come to group classes with confidence.

  • You will likely need 1-2 sessions, depending on your ability.

  • I am happy to come to you and run a session of Deep Stretching/Trigger Point Pilates or Pilates/feel-good movement which I can theme for your audience/setting. Pricing on request.

  • I require you to be medically signed off from a doctor. Or, if you are working alongside another healthcare professional, you will need to have been given the “all clear” to exercise.

  • No, you just need the space to move! I will bring the rest, and if you would like to add to your repertoire I can advise you on the necessary equipment.

  • Unfortunately I am not offering a 1-2-1 programme specifically to you at the moment. This offering has a short term, get-back/into-class focus.

  • Anyone can practice Pilates /stretch - that’s what makes it so great! You just need to be able to move, have the all clear from any medical professionals that you are under the care of and feel a pull to look after yourself.
